Silvana Lobo and Sr. Elizabeth Manimalakunnel arrive in Wataluma,<!--more-->on the island of GoodEnough, to begin the missionary activity of the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate in Papua New Guinea.<\/p>\n<p>On that green island in the middle of the ocean, they dedicate themselves with great sacrifice and generosity to health, education and pastoral activities. Soon, the other sisters joined them. With a hospital and a high school, the mission becomes in few years an important centre of reference for the local population and for the people of the neighbouring islands.<\/p>\n<div>After 30 years of presence, we have now <a href=\"\/?p=17282\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">8\u00a0communities<\/a>, scattered throughout the country, and there are already <a href=\"\/?p=14458\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">local vocations<\/a>, missionaries in turn to Africa, Asia and Brazil.<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-18770 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mdipime.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/png-1-300x226.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"423\" height=\"319\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mdipime.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/png-1-300x226.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mdipime.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/png-1.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 423px) 100vw, 423px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2nd December 1988: sr.
