On February 8, 2019 let\u2019s turn on a light against the trafficking of persons, to celebrate the 5th edition of the International Day of Prayer and Awareness against Human Trafficking. In these years, gathering in prayer has facilitated collaborating and overcoming the boundaries within which we operate, dedicated to our projects that, although very important, could lead us to cut ourselves off from the others. The great tragedy of trafficking urges us to overcome every barrier to join forces and collaborate for the common good.<\/p>\n
Human trafficking as a crime against humanity.
\nIt is a true form of slavery, unfortunately, more and more widespread,
\nwhich concerns every country, even the most developed.
\nIt is a reality which affects the most vulnerable in society:
\nwomen of all ages, children, the handicapped, the poorest,
\nand those who come from broken families\u00a0and from difficult situations in society.
\nWhat is called for, then, is a shared sense of responsibility and firmer political will to gain victory on this\u00a0front.
\nResponsibility is required towards those who have fallen victim to trafficking in order to protect their rights,
\nto guarantee their safety and that of their families, and to prevent the corrupt and criminals
\nfrom escaping justice and having the last word over the lives of others. (Pope Francis)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
