A culture of care as a path to peace<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A culture of care as a path to peace This is the theme chosen by Pope Francis for the 54th message on the occasion of the world day for peace: a culture of care as a way to combat the culture of indifference, waste and confrontation so prevalent in our time. Promoting a culture of care calls for a\u00a0process of education that begins in the\u00a0family, the natural and fundamental nucleus of society, in which we learn how to live and relate to others in a spirit of mutual respect. schools and universities collaborate in this process as in some respects, the\u00a0communications media. Religious leaders can play an indispensable role in handing on to their followers, and to society at large, the values of a “grammar of care”: commitment to promoting the dignity of each human person, solidarity with the poor and vulnerable, the pursuit of the common good and concern for protection of creation. The\u00a0culture of care\u00a0thus calls for a common, supportive and inclusive commitment to protecting and promoting the dignity and good of all, a willingness to show care and compassion, to work for reconciliation and healing, and to advance mutual respect and acceptance. As such, it represents a privileged path to peace.
