The day began with an Inaugural Prayer<\/strong>, led by Srs. Namitha Louis<\/em> and Rosie Fargose, MSI<\/em><\/strong>, during which the traditional Indian Lamp, a symbol of the L<\/em>ight of Christ guiding our missionary journey was lit. This act of unity highlighted the spiritual foundation upon which the BMF meeting is built.<\/p>\n

In her welcome note<\/strong>, Sr.<\/em> Antonella Tovaglieri<\/strong>, \u00a0the Congregation Leader of MSI, <\/em>the host of the meeting, warmly greeted all participants and encouraged to embrace the spirit of collaboration that the meeting embodies. Reflecting on the theme \u201cWorking Together (Lavorare Insieme),\u201d<\/strong> she encouraged everyone to embrace the spirit of unity and shared mission that has been central to the vision of the Bounded Missionary Families.<\/p>\n

The<\/em> keynote address<\/strong> by Fr. Ferruccio Brambillasca<\/em><\/strong>, the Superior General of the PIME Society presented<\/em> the growth of the BMF\u2014giving both the historical roots and the present development of the BMF family. His insights into the progress made over the years provided a framework for understanding the significance of a synodal Journey that the Church highlights.<\/p>\n

Participants were then invited to engage in ice-breaker activities<\/strong>, where they introduced themselves and shared their personal experiences on working together in mission. These experiences of collaboration and shared ministry set a positive and open tone for the week ahead.<\/p>\n

The Inaugural Eucharistic Banquet<\/strong>, presided over by Fr. Xavier Lourdh, PIME<\/strong> set the spiritual tone for the days ahead. It was not only a time of worship but also an opportunity to offer thanksgiving for the collective mission of the BMF.<\/p>\n

The afternoon session included news and updates of each Institution <\/strong>through ppt and video presentations. These presentations offered a deep dive into their unique contributions to the global missionary family. Participants were also made aware of the present challenges<\/strong> faced by each congregation in their respective missions. Issues such as socio-political hurdles and lack of personnel were highlighted. The sharing was a powerful reminder of the diversity and richness within the BMF and the importance of continuing to work together (Lavorare Insieme)<\/strong> to strengthen the collective mission.<\/p>\n

As the first day came to a close, the spirit of unity and shared commitment to mission was palpable. As the III BMF Meet unfolds, we anticipate further enriching discussions and meaningful exchanges that will strengthen our unity in mission.<\/p>\n

The 3\u00b0 Bounded Missionary Families (BMF) meeting began on 13 November 2024 at Nirmala Dhyana Sadan, Hyderabad. BMF is a collaborative initiative among various religious institutes, inspired by the PIME Missionaries. This week-long gathering united 25 missionaries, from across the globe for a time of prayer, building of relationships and renewing commitment.
