{"id":75338,"date":"2026-04-18T15:03:05","date_gmt":"2026-04-18T13:03:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mdipime.org\/?p=75338"},"modified":"2026-04-17T18:08:42","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T16:08:42","slug":"sr-margherita-caccia-a-sister-of-luminous-humility","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mdipime.org\/en\/vita-missionaria\/sr-margherita-caccia-a-sister-of-luminous-humility\/","title":{"rendered":"Sr. Margherita Caccia, a sister of luminous humility"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Born in the province of Varese on 19 June 1928, with the name Enrica, Sr. Margherita entered the missionary life with the Missionariy Sisters of the Immaculate in 1949, making her first profession on 1 November 1952.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Having earned her master\u2019s degree through hard work, she put her educational talents at the service of young children, teaching at a nursery school in Monza during two significant periods \u2014 from 1953 to 1955 and from 1968 to 1973 \u2014 leaving a quiet but precious mark on those classrooms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Milan, she worked with PIME for almost twenty years with generous dedication: first in the administration of the missionary journals, then at the Centre for Missionary Culture and Animation, becoming a discreet yet faithful point of reference for missionary animation in Italy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a token of gratitude, PIME offered her an extraordinary journey through the missions in India, Bangladesh and Hong Kong, which she experienced as an unexpected gift and as the spiritual fulfilment of the missionary dream that her health had never allowed her to fully realise.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Then came a time when life called her to a more hidden service. She was asked to stay by the side of Sister Edvige, who was later entrusted to the loving care of the community of St Joseph in Monza. There too, in that \u201ccross neither sought nor desired\u201d, Sr Margherita embraced her service with the quiet strength of one who had learnt to follow the Lord every day, without reservation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She is remembered as a soul of radiant humility, capable of transforming sacrifice into an offering, and renunciation into a mission.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On 28 March, shortly after midday, the Lord welcomed her into his presence.
