Yes indeed, it was a great day of joy and exuberance for the Province of Vijayawada, as four of our Sisters Sr. Lorenza Gudelli, Sr. Ancilla Vencentha Maria Fernandes, Sr. Joshma Medepalli and Sr. Premalatha Penumunuri made their Final commitment to the Lord to be the Heralds of the Gospel.
On 3rd July 2021, being the feast of St. Thomas, the Apostle of India who declared Jesus as ‘my Lord and my God’, our sisters expressed their determination and willingness to follow Christ more closely to proclaim the Gospel to the peoples, and said their definite ‘yes’ to the Lord through evangelical counsels.
The Holy Eucharistic celebration was presided over by His Excellency Rev. Dr. Joseph Raja Rao Thelagathoti SMM, Bishop of Vijayawada and Rev.Fr. Bhanu, secretary to the Bishop con-celebrated the mass at Nirmala Niketan, Vijayawada.
Sisters received the ring as a visible sign of the covenant that binds them eternally to Christ, the Apostle of the Father, the sower and the seed. The Bible was given to them as the symbol of our Charism for the proclamation of the Gospel. On behalf of the Congregation leader, the Province leader Rev. Sr. Blanche D’Mello received their vows and officially declared them as the permanent members of our MSI family.
On this auspicious day, parents of these sisters and few of their relatives participated in the celebration virtually and witnessed the ceremony with joy and affection, implored God’s blessings upon their beloved daughters so that they may commit themselves forever to the Lord with courage and firmness.
May JESUS continue to sustain our dear sisters in His love forever to be the Heralds of the Gospel.
