The long awaited II Bounded Missionary Family (BMF) meet was inaugurated on 21 November 2022 at the Generalate of Catechist sisters of St. Ann (CSA), Tarnaka, Secunderabad. This international meeting foregathered 26 participants from diverse nations and cultures, namely The Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions (PIME), Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate (MSI), Sisters of Reparation, Catechist Sisters of St. Ann (CSA), Sisters of Providence and Shanthi Rani Sisters.
“BMF meetings are to know and to strengthen each other and to enhance the collaboration among the institutes inspired by the PIME missionaries,” reiterated Fr. Ferruccio Brambillasca, the Superior General of PIME, addressing the participating members of six congregations. Sr. Antonella Tovaglieri, the Congregation Leader of Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate, in her inaugural address emphasised, “BMF meetings should motivate and strengthen the collaboration among the congregations and facilitate the possibilities to work together as one apostolic body to address the needs of evangelization.”
The workshop on ‘Dialogue in Evangelization’ included the topics on ecumenical dialogue, Inter-Congregational dialogue and the psychological aspect of interpersonal-dialogue, etc. The novelty of the meeting was the proposal to begin a new initiative as BMF in a mission where none of these congregations are present and to become the witness of communion in the evangelizing mission of the Church.
Having decided to continue further the collaboration and dialogue among us, the II BMF meeting was concluded on 26 November 2022, with the Eucharistic celebration presided over by His Eminence Cardinal Anthony Poola. He failed not to appreciate the toil of PIME missionaries for the growth and expansion of the Archdiocese of Hyderabad. It was noteworthy to listen to his harkening which invited the congregation gathered to continue to flow like a river in brining healing to all whom we meet.
