The South Brazil province is mainly composed of Brazilian sisters (65.5%), followed by Indian (17.2%), Italian (6.9%) and Bengali (6.9%), there is also a Chinese sister from Hong Kong. The age of members varies, with most of them between 70 and 79 years old (31%), followed by those between 40 and 49 years old (27.6%) and between 80 and 85 years old (20.7%).
The province’s main activities focus on missionary animation of the Church, through training meetings and missionary visits. The training of pastoral agents and the accompaniment of urban and rural communities is promoted, as well as social projects.
Among the challenges identified, pastoral aspects to be improved and future perspective issues are mentioned. The need for continuous reflection and development to address changes and community needs is also highlighted.
