A book by Sr. Marta Arosio, the fruit of her studies at the Pontifical Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies (PISAI) in Rome, where she obtained her licence.
Starting with excerpts from a work by the Egyptian mystic ʿAbd al-Wahhāb al-Šaʿrānī (d. 1565), translated here for the first time into Western language, this book aims to bring out the novelty of the Muslim contribution to the theme of hospitality and reciprocal visitation. By providing some keys to interpretation and introducing the main concepts that drive the faith and consciousness of virtuous Muslim living, Sr Marta suggests a positive look at the values that still characterise the life of the faithful today and which can become a fruitful place for an encounter between believers. In the appendix, she proposes four workshops for Islamic-Christian dialogue, with the aim of stimulating the desire to get to know each other and to reach the fruitful ground of mutual hospitality.
