The Fu Hong Society

‌Sr. Sandra Covini, a missionary in Hong Kong since 2001, currently serves people with mental disabilities in the Fu Hong Society foster homes. The aim of the home-families is to give these young people the family environment they could not receive from their families of origin or society. Sr Sandra recounts her activities in the foster homes: “When they come back from rehabilitation centres or work, some of them work, I listen to them tell me about the fruits of the day, we do some other activities together, have dinner and chat a little before going to sleep. Their receptiveness and simplicity are extraordinary and heart-warming, the way they care and take an interest in others is touching.

True wealth does not lie in what one possesses and produces, but in the sharing between brothers and sisters. The last ones are bearers of humanity and Hope.
