United Nations members States have renewed their commitment to ending child labour by declaring 2021 as the International Year for the Elimination of child Labour. In 2021, the international community will need to address the challenges posed by COVID-19 in tackling child labour and accelerate progress towards target 8.7 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aims at eliminating child labour by 2025.
On the occasion of the World Day Against Child Labour 2021, new global estimates to mobilize attention and guide action on child labour, during the International Year and beyond.
The World Day this year will also focus on efforts to drive progress during the International Year, with a “Week of Action” raising the voices of ILO constituents and the many partners engaged in the struggle against child labour in all regions of the world.
