The World Day of Prayer for Vocations this year falls on 21 April. The theme chosen echoes that of the upcoming jubilee: “Called to sow seeds of hope and to build peace“. The Pope urges readers to reflect on the call each person receives and to consider their vocation in life, inviting them to prayer and openness to God’s plan of love. He stresses the importance of listening to one’s vocation, which can manifest itself in different ways and contexts, such as service to the family, work, society and the Church.

He urges young people to be fascinated by Jesus and to follow their vocation with generosity and openness. He emphasises the synodality of the Christian community in recognising and accompanying different vocations and charisms.

Pope Francis invites people to prepare for the Jubilee Year of 2025, to rediscover the gift of prayer and hope. He reflects on the meaning of being pilgrims of hope, called to build a world of peace and justice, and encourages us to persevere on the journey, despite challenges and difficulties. He emphasises that Christian hope is based on the Resurrection of Christ and invites us to be witnesses of this hope in the world. Finally, he urges everyone to get involved, to wake up from indifference and to be builders of peace and fraternity in their daily lives.
