Rome. 16 January 2025, a special day for the community of the General House. We organised the pilgrimage to the Holy Door of St Peter’s Basilica. We left home after breakfast and went to the Basilica with the desire to take each Missionary Sister of the Immaculate with us to pass through the Holy Door for the whole Congregation, for all our presences in the world.
The 16th of January is a special day because it commemorates Blessed Paolo Manna, inspirer of our charism, a great PIME missionary. He is considered a “soul of fire” because of the great missionary zeal that inspired the ecclesial context of his time and animated so many missionaries.
Like him, we are called to rekindle the missionary charism among us and in the context in which we live, with courage, firm faith and determination.
This Jubilee challenges us to be pilgrims of hope in every situation, to ignite light in the greatest darkness, to believe in the creative power of the Gospel where there are so many signs of death.
With this spirit we have passed through the holy door, offering to the Lord our missions, the people we work with, the people we serve. It was a gift of God’s grace and an opportunity to deepen and strengthen our faith.
