This picture recalls the beginning of our mission in Papua New Guinea, in 1989.
On the 15th of August 2018 Sr. Cicilia, sr. Happy and sr. Merina made their first profession of vows in Mirpur Parish, Dhaka. Mons. Shorot Francis Gomes, auxiliary Bishop in Dhaka, presided over the celebration.
At 7 am on November 15, 1953, the first three missionaries arrived in then Pakistan, now Bangladesh, to open a new missionary presence.

Sr. Consolata Banfi, in the early years of her mission in Bangladesh, at the Danjuri Dispensary welcomes people who come for help.
In 1968, the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate opened a community in London, where the sisters could prepare themselves for the mission in Asia. Meanwhile, the sisters took care of a small, multi-ethnic kindergarten. They also worked in the Parish and took advantage of opportunities for missionary animation in England.
Sr. Bertilla about this photo: "The joy of being with the children - who are fragile, innocent, peace loving and peace makers. As a young missionary, amidst the children, in VIMALA MUMBAI, I began to soar high in the sky, for my enthusiasm and love for mission in INDIA had no bounds. Amidst them I learnt to be happy always and to spread smile".
