Jubilees are occasions to be celebrated, to recall the marvellous ways in which the Lord has led us. WE the MSI Sisters of Hong Kong Delegation celebrated the 50 years of our Presence in the mission during last year (2018). This year is also an auspicious year for us to celebrate the 50th anniversary of our School. Our first service in HK is the educational field. It began on 1 September 1969, at the Catholic Primary School in Shek Lei. The pioneer sisters trusted in the providence of God as they had neither the facilities nor the school building.

In 1970s, Shek Lei was a poor area with poor transport facilities also there was no secondary school for girls. God helped them through many benefactors to meet the needs of the people through education. A school is a place where the God-given talents in the students are recognized, nurtured, and led to flourish and fructify. It fulfils its mission in imparting education, moral and spiritual values.

Today, thousands of young women have graduated from Pope Paul VI College. True to the motto of the school, Love and Service, many of them can be found serving in various sectors of society, contributing their share in its development…

” When we honour the past, we energize the future and the present becomes a celebration“. The celebration began in July 2019, more than 700 old students, teachers and guests gathered together to celebrate the Pope Paul VI College Golden Jubilee Banquet. The special guest Sr. Ida (who was the School Principal for almost 20 years) from Italy and all the MSI’s of Hong Kong were invited to join this event to mark the historical moment for the school! The celebration was kick-started with the school bell recalling the student’s old memories. Sr. Luigia Mindassi the present Supervisor of the school and the School pioneer Sr.Theresa Pathickal were interviewed and telecasted during the event. At the end all the sisters were given the souvenir of 50th year jubilee and the celebration came to an end with great pomp and gaiety.
