16 July, on the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, in the Indian organisms is the day on which the Novices commit themselves to the Lord through their First Profession. No matter the coronavirus outbreak of 2020, “ It couldn’t dampen the spirit of our First Profession,” said Sravani Mulapaku. Adding to her Rita Parichha said, “Despite the uncertainties we face, what matters is I and my God.” “But one thing is true,” expressed Suchita Majhi, “We all love celebration, they are all about having fun with family members, decorating house, food banquet, etc but having a celebration when the lockdown just keeps extending can be a completely different thing.” Sahaya Kowsalya Mary interrupted them saying, “But be sure, we will be referred as Covid-19 Outbreak batch of 2020,” and completing her sentence Sudeepta Xaxa said “this will be the novelty of our batch.”

With these discourse of mixed sentiments the five novices entered into the rite of the First profession which was at 10.15 a.m., at Shradha Sadan, Sacred Heart Novitiate, Medchal, in the presence of hardly 50 members from both Vijayawada and Hyderabad Provinces. Rev. Fr. Mathew Kannadipara, SDB had been the main celebrant, who in his homily stressed on THE CALL to RELIGIOUS LIFE. He spoke about the vertical and the horizontal dimension of our calling. An open invitation was given to LIVE FOR GOD alone through SERVICE. He cautioned them to become the disciples first,  i.e.to sit at HIS feet and then to be the apostles to go about preaching. The whole event was concluded with thanksgiving for the gift of five new members to the MSI family.
