In a world full of uncertainties and challenges, especially for the youth of Guinea-Bissau, it is crucial to embrace hope as a guiding light towards a better future.

In Guinea-Bissau, the engagement and accompaniment of young people, adolescents and vocational groups is fundamental to the country’s development and progress. However, many young people face numerous obstacles and barriers that prevent their active participation in society. One of the main challenges they face here is the lack of access to quality education and vocational training.

Many young people don’t have the opportunity to acquire the skills and knowledge they need to pursue their desired careers and make a significant contribution to society. This lack limits their potential and reduces their ability to be actively involved in decision-making processes. This affects their lives and their future.

Despite these challenges, there is hope for young people in Guinea-Bissau! Through empowerment programmes, vocational training initiatives and community engagement efforts, young people can be equipped with the tools and resources they need to pursue their goals with determination and resilience. By nurturing in them feelings of hope and optimism, I realise that the young Guinean people can unlock their full potential and be the protagonists of their own history.

As a missionary, I can say that this time working among young people, teenagers and vocational groups has been a truly transformative experience. From the moment I arrived in this beautiful country, I was struck by the warm welcome and resilience of the people. It felt like I had found a new home, filled with the Spirit of God and the joy of community.

I feel that working with young people is challenging and rewarding at the same time. Many of the young people I met faced numerous problems in their daily lives, from poverty to lack of education, but when I see their spirit and determination, I feel inspired and strengthened. I have seen first-hand how great the power of faith and hope is in overcoming adversity.

In vocations groups, I meet young people who are deeply dedicated and have a firm resolve to follow God and reap God’s call in their lives. I am then reminded of the importance of following God’s plan in life. Their dedication to serving others and spreading the message of love and compassion is a constant source of encouragement and motivation to live my missionary vocation with radicalism and passion.

I feel blessed to have the opportunity to witness to the faith. I am grateful for the chance to serve God in this beautiful corner of the world and live my journey of faith with renewed passion and dedication.
