The 10th Parish Congress of St. Ignatius Parish, Lamlanghupi, Bishnupur, held from 21st to 24th January 2026 with the theme “Rock of Ages,” was a deeply grace-filled and faith-enriching experience for all who participated. Though the parish is small in number, it radiates a profound richness through its diversity. Faithful from eight substations, along with families from neighboring villages without church structures, gathered as one body in Christ. The presence of the Chothe, Rongmei, Chiru, Aimol, and Meitei communities revealed the beauty of unity in diversity many cultures, yet one faith, one Lord, one Church. Nearly three hundred delegates came together, not merely as participants in an event, but as pilgrims journeying in faith. The simple arrangements, including common cooking stalls organized village-wise, became moments of sharing, bonding, and joyful service.

From the very beginning, the atmosphere was prayerful and uplifting. As the flag was hoisted and the theme song “Rock of Ages” echoed through the hills, a deep sense of belonging and spiritual rootedness was felt. The reflection on the theme reminded everyone that the Church stands firm on the unshakable foundation of Jesus Christ, handed down through the living heritage of the Apostles. This awareness awakened renewed conviction to remain steadfast in faith despite life’s trials.

The Eucharistic celebration presided over by His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Linus Neli, DD, Archbishop of Imphal, became the spiritual summit of the gathering. His message on inner renewal and ecclesial unity stirred hearts, inviting the faithful to rediscover the strength that flows from communion with Christ and one another. The input sessions that followed were not merely intellectual engagements but moments of grace. Each talk opened new horizons  the universal call to holiness, the treasure of spiritual resources within the Church, and the historical journey of Catholic faith enabling participants to appreciate more deeply the gift of belonging to the Church.

The reflection on the family as the Domestic Church touched daily life, reminding all that faith begins at home and grows through prayer, love, and witness. The call toward shared responsibility for the sustainability of the parish inspired a spirit of ownership and collaboration among the faithful.

Beyond the formal sessions, the congress came alive through joyful expressions of faith and culture. Competitions, songs, choreography, and Gospel quizzes were not mere activities but celebrations of God-given talents. The grand cultural evening became a living testimony to the richness of traditions colorful, vibrant, and faith-filled  revealing how Christ is encountered and celebrated within every culture.

More than a programme, the congress became a spiritual awakening  a time to reconnect, to heal divisions, to strengthen bonds, and to walk together as one community. It fostered a spirit of sharing, mutual support, and renewed missionary zeal. The active involvement of the Sisters added to the beauty of the experience, and being part of this faith journey was both a privilege and a blessing. The gathering truly witnessed that when the Church stands on the Rock of Ages, it remains alive, united, and unshaken, radiating hope to every generation.
