A Jubilee is a moment of spiritual, ecclesial, and social significance in the life of the Church. For Christ the King Church, Tadipatri, this Silver Jubilee becomes a radiant milestone—twenty-five years of God’s faithfulness, the people’s devotion, and the mission’s growth in love and service. As I reflect on this sacred celebration, I am reminded of the words of Scripture: “This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes” (Psalm 118:23). Indeed, the Jubilee stands as a living testimony to God’s marvelous work in this parish.

Twenty-five years ago, in the year 2000, as a young novice, I was sent to Christ the King Convent, Tadipatri, for my community experience. At that time, I witnessed the inauguration of Christ the King Church—an unforgettable moment that filled me with awe and inspiration. Today, returning as a professed missionary sister to celebrate its Silver Jubilee fills my heart with deep gratitude. I see in this journey the gentle and mysterious plan of God guiding my life. What I once witnessed as a seed has now grown into a flourishing tree of faith, and I am humbled to be part of its story.

The faithful of Christ the King Church, Tadipatri, celebrated the Silver Jubilee on 23rd November 2025, marking 25 years of faith, service, and community building. The celebration began with a solemn and graceful welcome to Most Rev. Gorreti Jonnes, Bishop of Kurnool, accompanied by many priests, religious sisters, and a large gathering of the faithful. The vibrant youth of the parish honoured the bishop with a musical band procession, followed by an elegant welcome dance performed by the students of Christ the King High School. The presence of people from other religions made it a true moment of witness and proclamation of our faith.

The celebration reached its spiritual peak with the Holy Eucharist, presided over by the bishop and concelebrated by the priests who had served in this mission over the years. In his homily, the bishop beautifully explained the biblical meaning of Jubilee, reminding us that God invites His people to rejoice in His mercy, compassion, and fidelity. Reflecting on kingship in the Old Testament and the kingship of Christ in the New Testament, he emphasized that Jesus, the compassionate King, is the heart of this community’s journey. On this grace-filled day, the bishop also administered the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation to 72 children and adults, marking a profound moment of renewal and blessing.

The programme was enriched by a delightful felicitation dance by the students of Christ the King Primary School. A special moment of honour was offered to the bishop, and gifts were presented to the priests and religious sisters who tirelessly served the parish during its 25-year journey. Their unwavering commitment, sacrifices, and pastoral love were gratefully acknowledged as foundational to the spiritual growth of the faithful.

A significant highlight of the celebration was the release of the Silver Jubilee Souvenir, unveiled by the bishop. This Souvenir stands as a precious record of God’s blessings, made possible through the dedicated efforts of the Souvenir Committee. Under the pastoral guidance and inspiring leadership of Rev. Fr. L. Joseph, the Parish Priest, along with the religious sisters and faithful, the Jubilee celebrations were organised with remarkable devotion, unity, and joy.

For me personally, standing once again in this sacred place where my early formation took root, I felt overwhelmed with gratitude. God’s faithfulness across the years, the love of the people, and the beauty of the mission touched me deeply. My heart echoed the words of Mary: “The Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name” (Luke 1:49). This Jubilee reminded me that every step of my missionary journey has been carried by God’s grace and strengthened by the people who have walked with me.

The Silver Jubilee of Christ the King Church, Tadipatri, was truly a celebration of faith, unity, and hope. It was a day of prayer and thanksgiving, inviting everyone to continue the mission with renewed zeal. With grateful hearts, may we honour the past, celebrate the present, and look forward to a future filled with God’s blessings. May Christ, the King of the Universe, continue to guide, protect, and bless this beautiful community.
